hiiii my name is Rime (pronounced ”Reem” but ”rhyme” was a good guess 😜)

born in morocco, raised in Canada, i grew up looking for a place to fit.
trying hard to tone down my arab/african culture to better fit with my Canadian friends while also toning down my western mentality at home to appease my moroccan parents… for a long time I struggled to find peace somewhere between my conservative background and the liberal world I was raised in, especially as a woman.
when I found music, I found a place where I didn’t have to sacrifice any part of who I am. I got to be fully me. sing in French and English and Arabic if I wanted to. Mix in some arabic flute and Derbouka if I wanted to… speak on things a conservative culture might not want a young woman to…. but I needed to, and with music I could. music was where I finally fit. I infuse my art with everything that am, all the beauty of all the cultures that have raised me and continue to inspire me 🥰

I’d like to invite you to experience this world with me. A world of authenticity and joy, a celebration of cultures and femininity…
